The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the proper accounting for assigned complex reconciliations, performing research and data analysis as well as financial statement validation and participating in month end close activities.


Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare and maintain assigned account reconciliations in accordance with policy. Alert management of any significant issues identified and recommend solutions.
  • Researches “month on month” and “year on year” variances and determines drivers of unusual changes.
  • Reviews transactions to ensure compliance with Accounting policies and procedures, as required which can include contracts, orders and vouchers.
  • Familiar with IFRS – International Financial Reporting Standard. 
  • Perform root cause analysis of variances and document appropriately
  • Participate in 2-day month end closing process.
  • Assists with Reconciliation Review process.
  • Assists in the preparation of Audit schedules.
  • Works with team members to address various accounting issues as needed and required.
  • Prepares Benefit reconciliations, investigates differences and reviews findings with senior management.
  • Owns the allocation process, including updates, ensuring accuracy for global entities.
  • Understands the internal legacy computer systems (Oracle, Hyperion Financial Management, and Cubeware); in order to retrieve historical data (including downloads of data into Excel or other applications).
  • Take a leadership role in and drives completion of special projects with minimal direction.

Education and/or Experience

  • BS in Accounting or related field.
  • MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 8 -10 years of experience in similar role.
  • Experience with accounting for the full order-to-cash cycle.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply Accounting/Financial policies and procedures
  • Ability to understand the financial impact of the transactions
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of multiple concurrent and diversified tasks, while working with deadlines.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a team oriented environment
  • Advanced MS Excel a plus
  • Experience in Benefit accounting a plus
  • Detail oriented


Language Skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.


Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong Excel skills.
  • Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
  • Comfortable with advanced ERP system such as Oracle.
