The Position: What you will be doing: Summary of job

As a Senior Regional Sales Manager within the Citizen Identity team, you are an independent sales professional who will be responsible for managing a sales territory of a set number of countries within Asia Pacific. You will be adept at balancing the need for long-term country strategies medium-term business development and in-year sales results (new order wins). You will also relish winning new business and keeping existing customers, with a focus on growing revenues as well as identifying new opportunities to extend the relationship and collaboration In addition to a proven track record of meeting order intake, targets and growing sales responsibilities, you need to have demonstrated experience selling complex solutions to governmental agencies. 

What we are looking for:

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Contribute to the development and execution of a 5-year sales plan (owned by the Head of Sales, Asia Pacific) for issuance of identity credentials, both physical and mobile, in the assigned territories
  • Define and prioritize, in conjunction with the Head of Sales, target opportunities by country and sector, with achievable milestone timings (immediate pursuit, medium term positioning, longer term strategic initiatives, business development).
  • Deliver the agreed order intake target each year, and to meet and exceed quarterly and annual objectives by acquiring and maintaining targeted sales accounts within assigned countries.
  • Collect information and build up a comprehensive picture of the government and competitive landscape in the assigned countries for all target programs (passport, driving license, national ID, voter registration, social security, heath cards and so on).
  • Recommend HID solutions to customers, lead opportunity development, track bid progress, and conduct negotiations to close business.
  • Carry out in-depth assessments of opportunities, and strategies to win them, for internal communication and qualification.
  • Drive all internal sales activities including specification writing, prospecting, proposal coordination, contract preparation, negotiations, and closing.
  • Carry out effective account management of both government customers and local/regional intermediaries who may be customers for products and services, implementation partners or agents.
  • Identify opportunities for HID to move up the value chain in its chosen markets, by providing feedback and suggestions to internal product development and market research teams.
  • Attend regional and global trade shows and conferences, and to participate in these events as speakers, panelists or moderators offering trusted expert and industry opinion.
  • Input and maintain up-to-date opportunity and pipeline information within HID’s CRM system and support management with timely forecasts and reports.
  • Develop business cases and interface with marketing groups, finance, R&D, pre-sales, and management teams to collaborate and finalize opportunity strategies.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or Business
  • Mandatory 10 years or more experience selling complex solutions to governmental agencies
  • Must be able to demonstrate a track record of sales achievement
  • Exposure to regional markets is essential
  • Possess market knowledge and experience in the citizen identity, public safety, biometrics and closely adjacent markets is desired
  • Must have strong presentation and analytical skills
  • Must be able to create and effectively communicate strategies for the territory, and have a strong appreciation of how solutions are driven by geopolitical, macro-economic, technical feasibility, and other factors
  • Able to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.

Language Skills        

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing is essential. Further regional or other languages would be highly beneficial.

Computer Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.

Work Requirements

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Hong Kong / Singapore. 
  • Compliance to all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems.
  • Travel and fieldwork including extensive international travel will be required, therefore employee must possess or can acquire valid travel authorization throughout the region.
