The Sales Engineer provides technical consultancy to directly assist in maintaining and growing HID Global’s Secure Issuance business within assigned Financial Instant Issuance accounts in North America. This will include Fargo printers, printer consumables, TRISM software, associated supporting hardware devices and support/maintenance contracts. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for management and growth of existing partner relationships.

What you will be doing

  • Prepare and deliver presentations to key clients, prospects or HID Management.
  • Maintain and expand mindshare within customer base by counseling assigned account’s functional team contacts; building and maintaining rapport with key account contacts; and identifying new account opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain strong value added relationships with existing customers.
  • Travel in conjunction with Partner’s sales team to support sales efforts to existing and prospective customers.
  • Promote and sell HID products and services to existing or new customers or channels.
  • Interact daily with prospects in order to identify, document and analyze roadblocks to potential sales.
  • Achieve total customer satisfaction by interacting with assigned group of customers and HID management.
  • Establish effective communication with all departments to facilitate the most efficient resolution of customer related problems.
  • Participate as member of account management team, working closely to identify improvement opportunities, developmental needs and account growth.
  • Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ products, prices, and sales.
  • Achieve regional sales objectives by contributing regional sales information and recommendations for strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends.
  • Track results and communicate to senior management regional results.
  • Maintain a commitment to the company’s sales processes, values, and business code of ethics.
  • Confer with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements.  Answer technical questions and conduct demonstrations of products.
  • Provides technical descriptions and content for proposals in response to RFP’s and RFI’s.

What we are looking for    

  • B.A. / B.S. degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent education plus relevant work experience
  • 1 – 3 years related experience in Secure Issuance products / solutions
  • Customer-facing experience within the Financial Services industry
  • Experience speaking /presenting solutions to audiences of various sizes at industry or customer events.

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Experienced negotiator
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, synthesize complex business and financial data and develop innovative solutions.
  • Understanding of integrations and interfaces with banking core and/or EFT processing providers.
  • Familiarity with EMV personalization technology
  • Excellent planning, organizational and leadership capabilities.
