The Position:

HID Event and Mobility Solutions (EMS) is looking for an Engineering Manager to join the development team of the EMS platform. With your skills you will have an opportunity to contribute to the creation, innovation and development of the HID EMS Platform by managing engineering teams in 4 main locations (India, Italy, Poland and Czechia).

You will be joining a highly dynamic growing team with a start-up spirit, reporting to the Technical Director of Engineering, ready to disrupt the event and mobility (Transport) industry with HID’s ground[1]breaking, secure digital ticketing and access control solution.


What we are looking for:

Education and/or Experience

  • An undergraduate degree from a recognized university in Computer Engineering, Computer
  • Science, or equivalent
  • Minimum requirement of 5 years’ experience in software development managing teams of 5-
  • 15 people
  • Deep analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Project Development oversight
  • Working experience with Agile methodologies and tools (Scrum, Kanban, JIRA, Confluence)
  • In collaboration with colleagues and peers from the UK and Italy, helping to build an efficient, distributed team
  • Regular reporting on team status, project status, impediments related to teams competence and capacity development to local leadership


Following experience, a definite plus

  • Certificate for any role in any agile framework (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, Certified Product Owner, etc.) is a plus Strong team-building skills and teamwork orientation;
  • ability to coach, mentor and lead by example
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Service Oriented Architecture
  • Object Oriented Design
  • Object / Relational Mapping – Database schema design, with a good understanding of transactional behaviour
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services


Customer Expectations

  • Should have very good exposure and interest in working with the latest Cloud Programming,
  • Micro services and web technologies
  • Should have an excellent exposure to the Software Development Life Cycle, in particular modern UX/UI and REST best practices/languages such as Angular/JavaScript, Java, REST
  • Services and JSON, Object – Relational database mapping and Database Design
  • Should be able to directly work with Product Architects, Owners and Developers
  • Should be able to effectively communicate the project status and deliverables
