The successful candidate should have experience and be comfortable operating in both a *nix and Windows OS environment. This role will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of security policies and procedures related to both physical and logical security within IdenTrust. 


What you will be doing

  • Assist with the planning, design, development, and improvement of processes for a corporate security program that complies with industry best practices.
  • Interact with auditors, peers, and management to help establish requirements for an effective compliance program.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of process documentation for an effective information security program.
  • Work closely with peer teams, including Business, Systems, and Network Operations to ensure privileged access rights are controlled and maintained across all aspects of the company environments.
  • Perform daily monitoring of security logs and alerts.
  • Perform internal audits of badge access systems.
  • Maintain and monitor door controller, intrusion detection, and video surveillance systems including physical security checks.
  • Support regular audits of the company’s firewalls.
  • Perform network and web application vulnerability assessments.
  • Support remediation tracking activities with the help of other peer teams.
  • Participate in periodic after-hours support (on-call rotation & scheduled) by responding to critical system alerts requiring immediate response and investigation.
  • Interface with peer teams including Software Engineers, QA, PKI Operations, Systems/Network Operations, Business Operations and Product to ensure requirements are understood and maintained; assist with problem solving and/or troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Support an effective Security Awareness program throughout all of IdenTrust.
  • Support the maintenance of an effective Business Continuity Planning (BCP) program.
  • Support the security of Disaster Recovery (DR) site(s).
  • Communicate to management on the status of projects, issues, and vulnerabilities.
  • Other duties as required by business need and in support of the security program.


What we are looking for    

  • Strong desire for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard security tools and frameworks such as Nmap, Burp, Nessus, Metasploit, recon-ng, Wireshark, Kali Linux, etc.
  • Knowledge of intrusion detection systems.
  • Knowledge of penetration testing methodology.
  • Comfortable working in both Windows and *nix operating environments.
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies.
  • Ability to engage in effective interpersonal interaction, verbal communication and written communication.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail while remaining flexible and responsive when faced with multiple urgent requests.
  • Ability to maintain all company policies, including all confidentiality and safety policies.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment.
  • Good planning and project management skills.
  • Ability to shift focus quickly based upon changing priorities.
  • Completion of (or working towards) a security-related certification such as CISSP, OSCP, CEH, CISA, GIAC.
  • Ability to travel (regionally) up to several times a year.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline is preferred, but comparable work experience may substitute for a degree.  Additional security-related training or certifications (e.g., CISSP) is also preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of combined IT and security work experience, preferably in a technology-related company.
  • Background in security, networking, or other computer-related field.
  • Programming and/or scripting experience (Python, bash, Java, C#) a plus.
  • Cryptography/PKI experience a plus.
  • Wireless vulnerability assessment and / or penetration testing experience a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-class firewalls a plus.
