ASSA ABLOY Forms New Identification Technology Group

New Haven, CT (January 9, 2002) ASSA ABLOY AB announces the formation of the Identification Technology Group (ITG), headed by Joe Grillo and based out of ASSA ABLOY's U.S. headquarters in New Haven, Connecticut.

The Identification Technology Group is comprised of:

  • Card Manufacturing Center of Excellence (North Haven, CT)
  • HID Corporation (Irvine, CA)
  • HID Corporation Ltd. (Haverhill, UK)
  • Identification Technology Group Asia Pacific Ltd. (Hong Kong)
  • Identification Technology Group Research and Development Center (Denver, CO)
  • Indala (San Jose, CA)

"Our intent in forming the Identification Technology Group was to establish an ASSA ABLOY business entity made up of separate ASSA ABLOY Group companies," said Carl-Henric Svanberg, President of ASSA ABLOY AB and CEO of the ASSA ABLOY Group. "These individual business units are involved in the development, sale and distribution of electronic identification technology and components for the access control and smart card industries."
