HID Global Introduces Exceptionally Small Yet Durable High Frequency Logi Tag™ 121, Produced with Vigo™ Technology

News Highlights:

  • Logi Tag™ 121 transponders are first high frequency (HF) tags produced with patented Vigo technology, yielding thinner, smaller industrial HF tags with uncompromised performance
  • Options include tags that perform when mounted on both metal and non-metal surfaces
  • Tags to be featured at the LogiMAT 2014 conference from February 25 through 27 in Stuttgart, Germany

AUSTIN, Texas, February 20, 2014HID Global®, a worldwide leader in secure identity solutions, today announced that its Identification Technologies division has introduced its Logi Tag™ 121 transponders with Vigo™ integrated chips, creating the smallest, thinnest industrial-strength ISO 15693, high frequency (HF) tags available. Logi Tag 121 radio frequency identification (RFID) tags are the first to incorporate the company’s Vigo technology, which allows direct bonding of antennas to chips without the bulk of added modules. Vigo enables HID Global to produce smaller HF tags that deliver big performance.

“Vigo technology is helping HID Global minimize the space requirements for tags and maximize opportunities for embedding RFID into high frequency applications,” said Richard Aufreiter, director of product management, Identification Technologies with HID Global. “As a result, our Logi Tag 121 units can satisfy the increasing demand for space-restricted HF systems on metal and non-metal surfaces.”

Among the tiniest HF tags available, HID Global’s Logi Tag 121 units are ideal for identifying industrial tools and small equipment.  They are equally well-suited for use in any application that requires discreet placement, while potentially being exposed to liquid immersion, high-pressure conditions or extreme temperatures. Thin Logi Tag 121 discs attach with industrial adhesives or can be embedded into cavities, with formats available for mounting on metal and non-metal surfaces. They provide a 64-bit UID and full 1024-bit read-write user memory.

Among other innovations, HID Global will feature its new Logi Tag 121 transponders at LogiMAT 2014 – Europe’s largest annual exhibition of products and solutions for distribution, materials handling and information flow – from February 25 through 27 in Stuttgart, Germany. LogiMAT attendees will find HID Global in Hall 4, Stand 502, co-exhibiting with AIM, the association for automatic identification and mobility.

HID Global’s Logi Tags 121 are available now.
